“…stimulating your faith and courage and giving you instruction.”
1 Thessalonians 2:11b
Joseph was chosen and anointed by God to warn Pharaoh and the Egyptians that a famine was coming and how they should physically prepare for it. Joseph was clearly a forerunner who was sent to help preserve life during the famine. This is proved when Joseph says to his brothers,
“But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place (Egypt). It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives.” (Gen. 45:5).
A Joseph’s ministry is an anointing to warn the people of the coming trials of famines, disease, etc. and then helps to prepare them in spirit, soul and body.
It is true that there are many Joseph Project’s on the net. We praise God for each one of them! Each Joseph Project that we’ve researched has the same basic theme: preparing/assisting others to get through hard times.
What sets our site apart is the two-fold nature of Deliverance Ministry—setting people free from the chains that bind them, and helping them to establish self-sustaining communities so that they will be able to care for themselves and those around them in a poor economy.
It’s based on a very simple idea: if you pass someone in the street that has a broken hand and is starving, what can you do? Heal his hand and teach him how to grown his own food. In so doing, you are manifesting the love of God to this person and helping to restore his personal dignity.
“the ability to provide for your own needs without help from others; able to continue once begun.”
A self-sustaining community therefore is one that, once begun, can provide for the needs of those in the community without outside assistance. This can be as simple as a garden or as detailed as having an independent infrastructure.
“rescue from bondage or danger”.
The act of serving; ministration. One that serves as a means; an instrumentality.
A Deliverance Ministry is a service of rescue from the bonds of the enemy.
Statement of Faith
We believe that the bible is the inspired, inerrant and authoritative Word of God. That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man. That He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified and buried. We believe that he rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and that He will return in power and glory to rule the earth.
We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in Christ and His precious blood.
We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers us to live a life that is pleasing to God, and that it is prayer alone to the Father, through Jesus, and by the Holy Spirit that the power of heaven is released on earth.
We believe that our Lord will return, that the dead shall be raised, and that all shall come to the final judgment with its rewards and punishments.
Permaculture (Permanent Culture)
Permaculture integrates people into God’s design for nature. A Permaculture design provides us with shelter, food, water, income, community and aesthetic and spiritual fulfillment within a balanced and healthy biological community. Permaculture is a way of bringing together in a sensible system: ourselves and our communities, with whatever bit of land/space we are tending. It can be as small as a window with sprouts or as large as a farm or a bioregion. It can be in the city, the suburbs or in the country. Permaculture addresses the way we live on this planet in a graceful and healthy way.
GMO is an acronym for genetically modified organism (also called “genetically engineered”): a plant, animal, or microorganism that is created by means outside of nature.
Soybeans, corn, and cotton are among the most widely grown GMO crops. One type of GMO today is referred to as “insect resistant” and is regulated by the government as a new insecticide. This means that GMO grains can be processed, sold, and eaten while containing pesticides. A second type of GMO is “herbicide tolerant”. With the increase of herbicide tolerance in plants, farmers can now use greater quantities of herbicides sprayed directly on the plants. This means more chemicals in your foods. Another example would be GMO beef. This is cattle that has been raised (usually with growth hormones) on GMO grains rather than being “range fed”. Therefore GMO beef now potentially contains poisons and toxins from the GMO grains.
Defining the “most evil company in the world” as the one with the most villainous intentions or purpose, or the company that creates the most human suffering in its pursuit of profits; you are defining Monsanto Inc. This is not just the opinion of those at ajosephproject.com. Google “most evil company in the world” and Monsanto tops the list.
We cannot possibly go into all that Monsanto is, does, and has done over the years here. We will give you a basic description and urge you to research it for yourself.
Monsanto started out as a chemical company producing DDT, Agent Orange, NutraSweet, etc. and is now the largest producer of GMO (genetically engineered) seeds in the world. It is estimated that 70-100% of soy, cotton, wheat, and corn crops are Monsanto GMO crops. Roundup is an herbicide called glyphosate and is produced by Monsanto. It is sold to farmers as a pesticide and yet it allows toxins to accumulate in the soil. Crops eventually become infertile, forcing farmers to purchase genetically modified Roundup Ready Seed, a seed that resists the herbicide. This seed is engineered to produce only one year’s yield of crops. This creates dependency on Monsanto for both the weed killer and the only seed that can resist it. This seed must be replaced year after year. This pesticide is documented to cause cancers, skin disorders, spontaneous abortions, premature births, and damage to the gastrointestinal and nervous systems.
Monsanto has complete control over its seeds. If you happen to own a farm next to a farm where Monsanto seeds are used, and if those seeds migrate onto your land, Monsanto can sue you for royalties. Monsanto has recovered $15 million in royalties by suing farmers, with individual settlements ranging from five figures to millions of dollars each.
According to the International Labor Rights Fund, an estimated 12,375 children work in cottonseed production for farmers paid by Indian and multinational seed companies, including Monsanto.
Monsanto is also now taking interest in the water supply beginning research in India and Mexico.
Agricultural monoculture is the growing of one single crop over a wide area. Monoculture can lead to the spread of diseases, where a uniform crop is susceptible to bacteria. ‘Crop monoculture’ is the practice of growing the same crop year after year. Monoculture precludes crop rotation which is the practice of growing a wide variety of dissimilar crops to enhance the nutritional benefits of the soil.
The dangers of monoculture should be readily apparent: if you grow only one type of seed, and that crop is affected by blight, or fungus (as in the case of the Irish Potato famine) you could cause widespread hunger far faster than one might imagine. Much of the third world is very dependent on American crops, and if those crops were no longer available, the worldwide death rate would be catastrophic.
On January 4, 2011 the “Food Safety” (S.510) bill was signed into law. This bill gives the U.S. government total control over the production, transportation, and sale of all food in the United States. With this bill passing into law, the freedom to grow, eat, and share food from your gardens may be greatly curtailed. Some very real effects of this bill are that ALL food production, (including backyard gardens) will be required to be listed with the U.S. government. If you are not listed with the government, you could be accused of illegal smuggling. An “army” of inspectors will be hired by the government; in effect, food police.
“If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God.”~ Dr. Shiv Chopra, Canada Health whistle blower
The Codex Alimentarius Commission is the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the World Trade Commission working in conjunction with the multinational pharmaceutical cartel and international banks. Their purpose has been to develop a universal food code to ‘harmonize’ regulations for dietary supplements worldwide. Instead of focusing on food safety, Codex is promoting worldwide restrictions on vitamins and food supplements. Some very real results of Codex will be:
- Dietary supplements may not be sold for preventive or therapeutic use.
- Potencies may be limited to extremely low dosages. Only drug companies will have the right to sell the higher potency products (at higher prices).
- Common herbs such as garlic and peppermint may be classified as drugs that only big pharmaceutical companies can sell. Any food with any therapeutic effect can be considered a drug, even everyday substances like water.
- All new supplements may be banned unless they go through Codex testing and approval.
- Genetically altered food may be sold worldwide without labeling.
Heritage (or Heirloom) Farmers and Ranchers are those who refuse to deal with the big corporations from concern that certain types of seed and livestock will become extinct without direct intervention. The food animals and produce that they sell and preserve are free of Steroids, GMO feed or seed, and in many cases are free of pesticides. We cannot stress how important this movement is to the conservancy of both rare livestock and produce.
The American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC) is ensuring the future of agriculture through genetic conservation and the promotion of endangered breeds of livestock and poultry. As with agricultural monoculture, livestock monoculture has the same dangerous potential of spreading disease. If you only raise one type of cow and that cow has died off due to disease, there will be no other cattle to raise without the efforts of the ALBC.
This organization maintains exacting standards to which many of the heritage/heirloom farmers adhere. Turkeys, for example, are not raised in ill ventilated commercial coops, nor are they fed growth hormones to increase their commercial sales turnaround time, but rather are raised in the open, breed naturally, and are provided with coops to which they might retreat during bad weather. They are raised on natural products, and must pass rigorous criteria.
Buying organic foods is a healthier way to eat; being assured that there are no pesticides/herbicides/growth hormones, etc. in the food you buy, assures you that these chemical agents are not in the food you eat.
However, you must be very careful even in the organic foods you choose as Monsanto, Pioneer, and Phillip Morris own many of the organic companies we see on our grocery shelves. Companies like Hain and Odwalla. Even Horizon, Kraft, and Nestle are owned by GMO companies.
A good, basic first step is to buy products with pronounceable ingredients and foods that your grandmother would have served her kids. Generally the fewer the ingredients the more natural the product.
If you can, planting your own garden, using the proper soil, fertilizers, and seeds, is the best way to ensure that you and your family are eating healthy foods.
There are many good water filtration systems out there. Innovative ideas are being expressed every day with regards to water filtration. However, at this time, we highly recommend the Berkey Water Filtration systems.
“Berkey is used worldwide and sets the international standard for water filters used in clean or hostile filtration environments to provide the best tasting, purest drinking water possible. The portable Berkey can be used to filter non-potable or unhealthy water in situations where electricity and pressure are not available. For normal everyday water filtering applications from your faucet or for challenging filtration environments like wells, rivers and lakes, Berkey is the most flexible and adaptable filtering system available.”
